Around 90 Anganwadi workers’ and helpers received termination letters in the past two days who had actively participated in the strike. On Monday, the Delhi State Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Union said they accept more such notices and they would approach the Delhi high court against such orders.

The union claimed that after imposing the repressive Essential Service Maintenance Act (ESMA) by the lieutenant governor against the strike, the Delhi government was repressing the Anganwadi workers. The department had terminated 117 women till now and more terminations were accepted. The department also asked the women who were involved in the striketo write demanded apology letters in an illegal and undemocratic manner.
